June Meeting 2005
Approve/second May minutes by:   _van der Werff/Jones__
Members discussed the following:

Monthly intake for May (43) consisted of questions and or complaints dealing housing matter (landlord and tenant, repairs), employment questions, employment terminations, and questions/calls in reference legal assistance, Cayuga County Jail complaints.

Monthly Budget:  Members please see monthly activity report attached.

Juneteenth Day 2005:  At this time, 100 guests responded to the general J-Day announcements.  Various media are used for total market coverage.  Public Service Announcements, press releases, and general announcements to:

Cablevision – months of on-air time
Radio – popular stations
Newspaper – published in regional and local news media
General Announcements Mailers – mailed to service organizations, churches, schools
Local Politicians:  Mayor, City Councilors, County Legislators
City Manager
State/Federal Politicians – Finch, Boehlert, Clinton, Schumer, Pataki








Annual Report & HR Scholarship mailer:  Both jobs are at the printer and scheduled for early release.  Annual Report printing is $100 higher than last year’s price.  Mailer is slightly higher.

Human Rights Scholarship:  On-going
As of last month, the Commissioner inquired with a local bank contact about further donations.  None are available.  $250 is the total award for 2005.  AHS is notified and a confirmation letter mailed noting that the recipient’s check will be sent directly to the student’s home address.  Commission may opt to used the HR Recognition Awards as our sole fund-raiser with all ticket proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund.

Attended Salvation Army Board Annual Meeting:  End of year Annual Report Update with Guest Speakers

Attended Homsite Meeting:  Discuss housing issues and funding scenarios

Annual Report design – ongoing
